For Professionals & Referral Partners
Looking for a therapist for someone you support?
Finding the right therapist for a client, patient, student, colleague, or loved one can be a meaningful part of their care. Making a referral isn't simply about finding someone who has availability. It is about finding someone whose experience, approach, and way of being will be a good fit for the person seeking support.
At Ellie Lipton Therapy Group, we provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, non-monogamous partnerships, and families, with a particular focus on LGBTQIA+ competent and affirming care.
We welcome referrals from therapists, physicians, psychiatrists, educators, attorneys, coaches, school administrators, and other professionals who are looking for thoughtful, collaborative care for someone they support.
Who might be a good fit for our practice?
Our clinicians work with people navigating a wide range of experiences. Some come to therapy with a specific concern, while others know that something isn't working but aren't quite sure how to name it.
We have particular experience with:
LGBTQIA+ identity, gender, and sexuality
Relationships, attachment, and family dynamics
Anxiety and depression
Trauma and complex trauma
Chronic illness, disability, and Long COVID
Grief and loss
Body image and eating concerns
ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD
Life transitions and identity exploration
Athlete mental health
Substance use recovery
The effects of marginalization, oppression, and other systemic experiences
We believe that individual pain is rarely isolated from the systems and structure in which we live. Our clinicians bring different experiences and areas of focus to their work, allowing us to consider not only what someone is struggling with, but also the larger context of their life.

We value collaboration
When appropriate and with a client's consent, we are happy to collaborate with other members of their care team. We believe that good care often happens in relationship—not only between a client and therapist, but among the people and communities supporting them.
We also understand that we aren't the right fit for everyone. If someone you are considering referring to us would be better served elsewhere, we will do our best to help them find a more appropriate resource.
Considering a referral?
If you have someone in mind who may be a good fit for our practice, we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to know which clinician they should see. Send us what you know about what they're looking for, and we can help determine whether Ellie, Shay, or Claudia may be the best fit.
